Patient & Attendant Rights
As a Patient or Attendant, you have the Right To:
- Get proper medical attention as and when required.
- Get compassionate treatment while maintaining confidentiality, privacy & respect to spiritual or cultural need.
- Receive considerate behavior from attending staff.
- Protection from physical abuse or neglect.
- Comprehensible & correct information about what is wrong, what is being done about it and why, what is the expected outcome & the probable cost of treatment
- Explanation if he/she is referred to a centre offering higher treatment facilities.
- Second opinion or refusal of treatment.
- Voice a complaint or grievance.
- Fair hearing from a competent authority, if he/she has any complaints about the treatment being administered.
- Refuse treatment to participate in any research project such as a clinical trial for a new drug or new procedure.
- Access to clinical record i.e.(discharge summary with clinical reports)
Patient & Attendant Responsibilities
As a Patient or Attendant, you are Responsible:
- For being honest with your doctor and to provide complete and accurate family / medical history to the doctor
- For doing your best to comply with your doctor's treatment plan
- For maintaining healthy habits and routines that contribute to good health and take responsibility of your health
- For your valuables. Please leave your valuables at home and only bring necessary items.
- For treating all hospital staff, other patients and visitors with courtesy and respect; abide by the hospital rules and safety regulations; be considerate of noise levels, privacy and number of visitors; and comply with the 'No Smoking' policy.
- For understanding all instructions before signing the consent forms.
Guidelines for Visitors
We value your family and friends and recognize that they are an important part of your recovery process:
- For the comfort of all our patients, we request you to limit your visitors during visiting hours
- Please note that visitors may be restricted according to a patient's medical condition and/or special needs.
- At the time of admission, you will be issued passes for attendants and visitors. Please request your attendant and visitors to display the passes while in the hospital premises. In case of loss of the pass, you may get in touch with the Front Office Desk.
- Visits by children under the age of 12 are not allowed on patient floors. This is to protect children from catching any infection.
- You should sanitize before and after visiting your patient.
- Use of mobile phones is prohibited where critical medical equipment and patient monitoring systems are in operation. If you must use your cell phone in approved areas, please speak in a soft tone so that other patients are not disturbed.
