:I have been diagnosed with Plantar's Spur, what are the remedies for it?
Answer:Plantarâs Spur are also known as Calcaneal Spur. These are bony outgrowths of heel bone (Calcaneum), caused due to stress and faulty footwear. Pain and swelling around the heel along with inability to bear weight especially in the morning are the usual complaints. Treatment consists of analgesics (NSAIDS), ice packs application, premium soft sole footwear and stretching exercise. If the relief is still not as expected then consult an Orthopaedician.
:My 7-year-old daughter has tonsillitis. It recurs every winter. Do you advise that we operate her tonsils?
Answer:Prior to taking any decision for operation, she has to be investigated for presence of adenoid and/or any type of bacteria. Culture & Sensitivity of the swab from the tonsil should be done as well as for Asotitre & C Reactive Protein. If X-Ray shows big adenoids & culture shows Streptococci beta haemolyticus with high Asotitre and high C Reactive Protein, surgery can be considered. Usually operation is advisable for a child who gets infection on three or more occasions in a year.
